My STBX and I have a RV loan, car loan and credit cards that are only in my name. We acquired these during the marriage. The house is in my name and we are upside down on the house. I cannot afford to make the payments on the house as well as the rest of the debt.

The Marriage Settlement Agreeement states that I will be the person solely responsible for this debt and I hold the STBX harmless.

When I file Ch 7 to discharge the RV loan, car loan and credit cards, can they still go after her amnd hold her liable? Even though the MSA says that I am the resposible party and the debt is in my name only?
We reside in the state of CA

What prompted you to agree to her being off the hook in your marriage settlement agreement? Did you have an attorney? Sounds like she did… To answer your question, I don’t know. My guess is they will come after you first since your name is on the loans. The ex second and she will of course wave that piece of paper at them. My guess is she is off the hook and you’re a paddle short on the creek.

Today at 10AM I'm going on a 5 hour trip in Canada. My Dad wants me to sit in the passenger seat and I do not want to.. How do I tell my Dad that I don't want to sit in the front of the RV when I could be in the back listening to music? I know, this is quite a pathetic question but yeah.. Oh and how safe are RV's on the highway when sitting at the table that has waist buckles? Dosent seem safe to me..

Just be honest

Wat is the average cost of RV insurance and the average motor RV mpg in gas or diesel. You can provide a website as long s it doesn’t require me to put in phone numbers, emails or social security.

there are many prices for rv insurance…i own a 2005 42 ft beaver…. diesel with 3 slides….i pay 5,500 a year for full coverage…..but considering what repair costs are….. that’s a bargain…when i was in texas last year the wind blew my electric awning off the coach and that alone costs 10,000 dollars to replace…my coach gets 6 to 8 mpg at 75 mph, and 8 to 9 mpg at 68 mph…we had a gas coach that averaged about7 or 8 mpg at 65, but gas coaches are lacking the torque that a diesel has…..diesels are much better overall but diesel fuel is expensive.. so its a trade off..if you are a part timer…most full timers that we know have diesel platforms

my employer is also my landlord. i live in a small rv park. he fixed the window in trailer and took $28 out of my check for it. i supposely own the trailer. he sold it to me months ago for $5. he had me sign a paper thats says the trailer is mine but he never gave me a copy. i would like to now if that is against the law. my co0workers at work said he cant take any money out of ur check except if it is a loan.
ok the trailer is lfrom the 70's i think. it has wheels. when i first moved in here the trailer was worn down. the rentals lwas in Fl says he has to keep in good repair. when he found ou i got pics of what the inside looks likes and was going to get some action he sold me the trailer. by the way i am 40 years old.

Hi were looking to rent an RV from Aug-sept, for about 3 weeks. We needs a sink and somewhere to cook and a double bed. Any ideas on a company who is reasonable in price. We have had quote for about $4000 is this about right?? It seems quite steep! Thanks for your help as were from the UK we have not had any experience with renting in the USA.
RV = recreational vehicle such as a camper van!

For a 3 week trip, $4000 breaks down to about $190 per day for the rental. It does seem a bit steep, but keep in mind, it'll save you the cost of renting a hotel room, car, and eating out! And have you priced an RV lately? They're quite expensive to purchase. The rental company has to recover its $$$$ somehow. The price may also vary from city to city. Depending on the city you are flying in to, the prices may vary. You may want to check RV rental prices in another city and fly into there instead.

worked 25 yrs, in car accident 3 yrs ago, nominal settlemeny allowed medical bills to be paid and money to support children and ex spouse. small amount left invested in quality computer. household neccessities. medicine and clothes. Prior work as a professional magician, salesman at promotional products company. Customers were Hewlett Packard, Sapp Bros. Truck Stops, Central Hockey League, and many more. From the good working income to $0 overnite and no heath insurance. I learned how difficult bit is to get around to all the neccessary private and public agencies to survive. Homeless penniless and injured. 3 yrs later I can again walk talk read and write. I have 7 solid unique web based business ideas for the poor elderly or disabled to do from home or RV legitimately. Please help . I thank you for your time in advance

Sounds like you are all set you have the ideas how to make money and websites aren't expensive to set up so you should have enough from your work without loans. Congratulations on your new career. If you need a few dollars maybe your ex will loan it to you since it will allow you to support your children better.

The land 330' X 330' is well improved! It has a fully livable OLD mobile home, with full utilities included. It is fully fenced. It has a seperate area with RV hook-ups. A carport. 3 Work sheds. An outdoor cooking shack (screened 4' up). Groomed landscape. Fruit trees and fruit vines. Plus, many other amenities, including being close to town (for a country residence 2 0r 3 miles). Also, it's a corner lot! Anyway, the banks are giving me trouble because (in my opinion) recently many people have went beyond their means and so many forclosuers have made the lenders bankrupt or caucious. I personally have mostly paid cash for things/rarely live beyond any kind of needs and can pay this off, even at 29% interest in 2 or 3 years and I need the good credit refection. Plus, some time in a garden (which this place is set up for) would do wonders for my sanity. Also, I drive a semi-truck and geographically it is perfect with regards to my trade! The lots next door unimproved are going for 15000!

Check with a loan officer in OK.

I'm planning a west coast trip with RV (Camper) and I need suggestion for deciding if include Death Valley in my tour or not. Travel guide and RV rental company informed me that in August the Death Valley road is closed to RV because of high temperature which could damage the engine …is that true ? ( RV ensurance doesn't cover the cost !!) Please give me suggestion !!! Thank you

There would be no sense in taking a rental RV into Death Valley in the summer time. We went out there in 2003 and don't remember seeing any signs stateing RVs were not allowed, from the Nevada side anyway.

Reason being, a rental will not have sufficiant insulation to keep the inside of the RV from reaching tempatures high enough to cook you. I have a friend who will camp there in September in a RV, a Beaver, that has 6" roof insulation and he can only maintain 90 degrees inside with both A/C's running, fulltime.

We camped at a nice campground just outside Death Valley called Ft. Amargosa RV Park, in mid August, at the intersection of US 95 and SR 373 in Amargosa Valley, Nevada. This allowed us to enter Death Valley at three different points. First we went in on SR 373 and traveled to Badwater, the lowest point in the US. Then we went in on SR 374, out of Beatty, Nevada, for a more direct route to Furnace Springs. Finally, using SR 267 we went to Scottys Castle, now a National Park. If you miss everything else, don't miss Scottys Castle.

Have a good trip.

An after thought: We did have a tow car behind our motorhome to take side trips.

I need to buy a gift for my band director… the best teacher I've ever had (I'm graduating). I'd rather not get him the normal teacher stuff. He recently had a house fire and lost a lot of stuff do to smoke damage, but insurance is going to cover everything so I can't really get him anythign for the house. Also, after the fire, he has been given enough gift certificates for restaurants to last him years, so can't go that route.

I know that he'll be living in an RV this summer in his driveway until they can move back into their house in about 5 months. He said they'll be spending the moajority of their time outdoors. He loves mowing his lawn and has a pool. Any ideas?

You could collect some pictures from other students and teachers and make him a special photo album. Another idea is to go to the mall to one of those engraving stores — clocks, photo frames or boxes are good for men.

What are the costs to live in a 2 bedroom Motor home/RV ? If it is parked at my mother house (she has 2 acres property) and I only pay my utiltys …how much does that cost? Electric? Heat? A/C? Monthly??
Can I hook up cable and internet? Is this possible ….no gas worries cause it will stay where it is and not move..
Rent is so expensive and cant get a home loan…so just trying to think of ways to live cheaper and be able to save money. Currently I am paying 1550.00 a month for a 2 bed rental…its impossible to save a dime. I cant afford it anymore…IS a rv a good idea?

You will have to hook into your mothers utilities. You can have separate phone and or cable service that includes DSL. I would pay her rent for the space and for utilities. The extra power should not be more than $100 a month on her bill. Keep in mind that most RVs have gas stoves, water heaters and heat. They have portable propane tanks that you will have to go and get refilled or you can have the gas company to set up an outside natural gas tank that will last months instead of weeks.

My advice is to go to a used RV dealer and tell the salesman what you plan to do and he can give you more advice.

Also, buy a trailer, not a motor home. The trailer will have more room for its length, be cheaper to buy and you will not have near as many mechanical issues when you finally sell it one day. It is not good to let a motorized vehicle to sit for months and years.

Edit: Good point Doug. I forgot about sewage. You would have to tap into your mothers septic tank or city sewage line.
