I bought a nice new car 2 months ago. Then, on the 1st night, i parked it in my usual spot, and a neighbor who drives this big-a$$ed RV (camper van) scratched the front bumper whilst he was manoeuvring his RV around to park next to my car.
I didn’t see him do it, but I know it was him, because when i left for work the next morning, i saw the scratch on my car, he was parked next to me, and sure enough, on the rear corner of his RV, there was a scrape, embedded with paint the same color as my car.
I confronted him about it, but he denied any involvement and said that his RV had been scraped 3 times in the past year and on those occasions, nobody left their insurance details. He said the same thing must have happened to his RV again! He said that as we live on such a congested street, we have to accept the risk of knocks and scrapes.
A$$hole!!!
So as it’s only a light scratch i let it slide, buy a scratch repair kit and fix the blemish on my car.
Then 2 days ago….i go out to my car, and there is a BIG scrape down the side of my car, the fender is buckled, bumper all scraped up, and door dented and scratched. There is a white plastic residue in the scrape (same as there was with the 1st scratch), so i immediately go and look at the guys RV.
Sure enough, on the corner of it…a nice big scrape in the Hard White Plastic Corner protector, embedded witgh my car’s paint again! Now i can tell he’s done the best he can to clean it up, but you can still see it!
I confront him again…he denies it!
What can i do? ….the police can only help if there was a witness, otherwise it’s all just circumstantial, nothing they can do.
So i have to claim the damage on my own insurance and lose my zero claims discount….aaargh!
The guy can’t keep getting away with being a ba$tard of a careless driver and damaging other vehicles.
What do you think i should do???
(I live in the UK by the way…and no, the police won’t attend incidents involving vehicles here, unless somebody was injured!….and i have kept a photo record of both scrapes to my car and his RV)
I don't want to get in a tit-for-tat battle damaging each others vehicles, Besides, if i was to smash his lights/windows etc, i could be seen doing it, as the parking area is overlooked by houses… and could get into trouble myself.
OK….parking elsewhere is not an option, there is nowhere else to park, unless its on a nearby street where the residents will be pi$$ed off with me parking there because parking is tight all round here…i've applied to the local council for a garage to keep my car in..none available in my area at this time!
I guess i just need some subtle revenge tactics.!
Ideas anyone???
wish i knew it happened to me, neighbour got his reg, i phoned the police, and nothing came of it

OK.
So I live in Dallas, Texas and a couple of weeks ago, there was this huge problem with someone “keying” (scratching long and hard marks on the paint of a car) expensive hummers. It seemed that this “bandit” was only doing it in a certain rich area. Anyway, this ‘ol boy had a good idea; he attached some car cameras intended to vigil for thieves on his hummer. So, when his car did get keyed, it was visually recorded. Anyway, this film was broadcast all over the news! It was this FOP (f*u*c*k*i*n*g old person) who was all against gas guzzling cars, and he was doing it in the name of the environment. He is in jail now.
