I was thinking about taking the family for a couple of months around the country but do we have to pay some rental fee every night or are we able to park in 24 hour stores parking lots to avoid fees?

Some places allow you to stay overnight I think wal mart is one of them but im not sure you will have to pay to stay some nights because you may be asked to move along if you stay over night in a parking lot.

RVing isn't exactly my thing, but I've heard that you can park overnight in any Walmart parking lot, and that the road atlases sold at Walmart show other store locations partially for this purpose.

As long as you have a self-contained RV (rig has both gray and black water tanks) and don't mind the fact you have to run on the battery or generator the entire time you're stopped, then yes, you can park at the furthest edges of Wal-Mart parking lots.

I have heard some small towns will allow RV'ers to park at the town park, but have never tried to do so myself as I have a popup rather than a TT or motor home.
